Details of the auditions for the eighth series of 'American Idol' have been announced.
The auditions will begin on Thursday 17 July in San Francisco.
The San Francisco date will be followed by auditions in seven other cities: Louisville, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Juan, Kansas City, Jacksonville and East Rutherford.
More city auditions will be announced shortly.
